Beauty Sleep

Buzz: During sleep humans experience a surge in growth hormone to help repair and rebuild body tissue. Cells regenerate faster at night than during the day aiding recovery from stress and free radicals. Regular eight hour sleep should be your first go to beauty strategy. What's more, regular sleepers perform better during the day, are happier and more confident. They carry less stress in their faces and generally have fewer wrinkles.

Bedroom: Your bedroom should be a reflection of your personality - a place you really love to be. An ultra comfortable mattress can work wonders. Making your bed and tidying up daily cues the subconscious that sleep is a priority.

Evening Routine: An evening routine will encourage a good night's sleep. Mine begins with silk pajamas, skin care, teeth brushing and a cup of chamomile tea.

Essential Oils: Orange, roman chamomile and lavender encourage sleep.

Other Things to Try: Daily exercise (a walk is good), adequate hydration, limits on caffeine and alcohol (especially during the evening), yoga and mediation encourage sleep. Cherry juice said to naturally contain melatonin may also help you get a good night sleep.

Good night!
