Buzz: Back to nature getaways relieve stress, revitalize the spirit and provide inspiration. Away from the bustle of the city with crystal clean waters and super fresh air, a nature retreat can be enriching for the body and the soul.
Hiking Juniper Trail across from Radium Hot Springs: For me, the perfect escape is hiking the Canadian rocky mountains. The juniper trail across from Radium ho
t springs meanders up the mountainside to spectacular mountain views of the Columbia Valley leading to a beautiful creek and Sinclair Falls, set amidst a lush rain forest like setting. The area is rich with wildlife and mountain sheep can often be sited grazing in open areas. Afterwards a relaxing soak in the nearby hot springs makes the perfect getaway.
Review: The 3 km medium difficulty trek up the mountain was challenging enough to provide a good workout (great to lift and tone the glutes). Radium is truly beautiful, the weather was great and the hot springs were an unbeatable bonus that provided the uplift I was looking for.
Hiking cost: Free (Hot Springs <$10)
Area activities: Golfing, horseback riding, rafting, mountain climbing, world class skiing, wildlife...
