Royal Jelly

Buzz: Royal Jelly moisturizes and promotes skin cell regeneration for a naturally radiant glow.

The Queen Bee: Royal jelly is made of worker bee secretions used to feed bee larvae in the first three days of life. The Queen Bee however feeds on royal jelly exclusively. Genetically identical to the worker bees, the Queen grows twice as large and lays as much as a million eggs in her lifetime.

Royal Jelly: Royal Jelly is a creamy white substance containing lipids, amino acids, vitamins and minerals. Amino acids support the skin's connective tissues and are a basic ingredient in collagen which is essential for skin’s firmness. Royal jelly moisturizes skin and contributes to improved texture and tone.

How to: Royal Jelly can be taken as a supplement according to the manufacturer’s directions. Gel caps can also be snapped open and applied to the skin for a nutrient boost. Some people feel a instantaneous tingle immediately after applying – must be some of that queen bee magic.

Cost: Approximately $20.00 for 100 (5mg) gel filled caps. Available at health food stores and online.

Cautions: Royal jelly and other bee products can cause severe allergic reactions in some people.
