Spa Bath

Spa Bath, Natural Products
A luxurious bath is the easiest way to spa at home. The trick is to set some time aside and make it special.

Step 1: Set the Scene. Start with an impeccably clean bath room and tub.  Stock it with your best towels and natural products. Be generous, this is your spa time. Dim the lighting, perhaps with candles. Nice!

Step 2: Draw the bath. Add some combination of Epson salts (great for sore muscles), sea salt, baking soda or coconut milk and scent with rose petals or your favourite essential oil(s). Luxe!

Step 3: Soak your troubles away. Inspiring!

Step 4: Repeat often. Spa bath time is essential to the art of living well.

Royal Jelly

Buzz: Royal Jelly moisturizes and promotes skin cell regeneration for a naturally radiant glow.

The Queen Bee: Royal jelly is made of worker bee secretions used to feed bee larvae in the first three days of life. The Queen Bee however feeds on royal jelly exclusively. Genetically identical to the worker bees, the Queen grows twice as large and lays as much as a million eggs in her lifetime.

Royal Jelly: Royal Jelly is a creamy white substance containing lipids, amino acids, vitamins and minerals. Amino acids support the skin's connective tissues and are a basic ingredient in collagen which is essential for skin’s firmness. Royal jelly moisturizes skin and contributes to improved texture and tone.

How to: Royal Jelly can be taken as a supplement according to the manufacturer’s directions. Gel caps can also be snapped open and applied to the skin for a nutrient boost. Some people feel a instantaneous tingle immediately after applying – must be some of that queen bee magic.

Cost: Approximately $20.00 for 100 (5mg) gel filled caps. Available at health food stores and online.

Cautions: Royal jelly and other bee products can cause severe allergic reactions in some people.

Skincare Nirvana

Buzz: Spa quality natural skin care is effective and very nourishing for your skin. my favourites are:
Colostrum cream
Rose hip oil
Sweet orange essential oil (evenings only)
Bee propolis extract
Royal Jelly

Review: After years of trying the latest products without meaningful results, I finally found a combination of natural products that I call skincare nirvana. I love these products because they provide a deep lasting clarity and that elusive youthful dewiness. Skintone is more even (less redness and dark circles) pores are smaller and no acne outbreaks. Orange oil brings clarity. Rose hip oil tones and strengthens. Bee Propolis extract and royal jelly nourish. Colutrum cream provides a lightening effect and luminosity that can't be beat.

How to: Message colostrum cream with upward stroke until fully absorbed followed by a few drops of the rose hip. Next two drops orange and finally a drop of the bee propolis on the forehead and on each cheek. Royal jelly is a perfect weekly nutrient treat.

Cautions: Introduce new skin products one at a time to ensure no skin sensitivities. Sun sensitivity - avoid direct sunlight or UV rays for up to 12 hours after applying rose hip and orange essential oils. Royal Jelly and bee proplolis may cause severe allergic reaction particularly if you have allergies to pollen and other bee products.

Colostrum Cream

Colostrum daily facial rejuvenating cream is rich in transforming growth factors to help repair damaged skin cells, regenerate new cell growth and restore youthful elasticity to aging skin. Active Ingredients include first milking bovine colostrum. Other ingredients may include MSM, vitamins A, C, E in a base of natural and essential oils.

Cream from first milking colostrum.
Colostrum typically has no synthetic perfumes added which is good if you have skin sensitivities or would like to juice it up with your own essential oils to personalize the fragrance. Applying the first time, I noticed it gave my skin an instantaneous silkiness and a deep moisture boost that lasts through the day. This definitely is the best general purpose face cream I have ever used. Colostrum cream significantly progresses skin toward that elusive flawless perfect canvas. My skin's hydration is just right. It is also brighter, lighter and somehow thicker. Must be those farm fresh growth factors!

Excellent cream; my skin care nirvana.

Cost is about $30 (50 ml jar)
